CIRCUMSTANCES On March 12, 2006, during the demolition of a frame, one story house at 7834 West Thatch Avenue, Auburn, Alabama, the crew discovered several large bones under the front porch. The police were contacted and they recovered enough bones to fill a medium sized cardboard box. The state forensic laboratory received the bones and they clearly were human. A team from the forensic laboratory, along with students from a forensic anthropology class at Auburn University, returned to the location and recovered 34 additional bones and bone fragments.

Changes in the cranium. Over the course of human evolution, the following general changes occur in the shape and size of the skull.
