' Kole snapped back, 'it's been a long tour, I'm dog-tired, boot-sore and hungry and need a good night's sleep – at least as good as anyone can get here at Cerbera – and I don't need your idiot games. Look, don't get Priest all wound up. You know what he's like. ' 'Precisely. ' Ferze interrupted. ' Kole said before directing his attentions back at Geist. 'I'll ask you just one more time, Geist. And it remained silent, the only sound other than the tense shallow breathing of some of the men being a twittering, whistling bird call coming from the vine-strewn canopy above. From where he stood, still targeting the figure with his laspistol, his aim unwavering, Kole dared risk a glance more directly at those few parts of the stranger that were not hidden beneath the shadows of its cloak.

By the Omnissiah's grace I shall ensure that mighty Avenger remains vigilant and ready to repel attackers,' the gunnery officer responded. ' Camlann shouted to the Avenger's passengers. 'This is as far as we go. Everybody out! And may the Emperor go with you,' he added. THE RAMP OF the Land Raider dropped open, lowered by whining hydraulics, and the LCD-shot gloom of the interior of the tank was suddenly bathed in the dirty sepia light of the contested marshlands.
